Job Overview

Position Summary

PeaceHealth is in search of a dedicated Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist to join our esteemed Cardiac Rehabilitation team. This is a Full-Time, 0.90 FTE, Day position. The compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and interviews with patients, gathering pertinent medical histories to create tailored rehabilitation plans.
  • Oversee the entire cardiac rehabilitation journey for patients, adjusting and supervising therapeutic programs as necessary while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Design and implement safe exercise prescriptions for a diverse patient demographic, ensuring effective collaboration with healthcare professionals while demonstrating independence in clinical decision-making.
  • Provide thorough counseling to patients regarding their test outcomes and procedures, while educating them on home exercise regimens and lifestyle modifications.
  • Develop and facilitate educational initiatives for patients and their families, enhancing their understanding of health and wellness.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of wellness programs and community health initiatives, promoting overall well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related discipline is required.
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation services is preferred.
  • Must possess a current license/registration/certification as mandated by state regulations.
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through recognized organizations is required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within one year of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation phases I, II, and III is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in exercise physiology and cardiovascular pathophysiology is required.
  • Strong skills in ECG and arrhythmia recognition are mandatory.
