PeaceHealth is seeking a dedicated Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation team. This full-time role is pivotal in delivering exceptional care to patients engaged in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs focused on cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular health.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you will:

  • Conduct thorough initial assessments and interviews with patients, gathering comprehensive medical histories to formulate tailored treatment plans for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Oversee the entire rehabilitation process for individual patients, ensuring the implementation, adjustment, and supervision of therapeutic programs, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Create safe and effective exercise prescriptions for a diverse patient demographic, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care, while also demonstrating the ability to make independent clinical decisions for complex cases.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to patients regarding test outcomes and rehabilitation procedures, while educating them on home exercise regimens and lifestyle modifications.
  • Design and execute educational initiatives for patients and their families to enhance understanding and engagement in their rehabilitation journey.
  • Assist in the development and execution of wellness programs and community health initiatives, contributing to broader health promotion efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related discipline is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a relevant field is preferred, with at least two years in cardiovascular rehabilitation services being ideal.
  • Must possess a current license or certification as mandated by state regulations.
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification from an accredited organization is required upon hire, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification needed within one year.
  • Proficiency in cardiac rehabilitation phases I, II, and III is essential.
  • Strong understanding of exercise physiology, cardiovascular pathophysiology, and related testing and treatment methodologies is necessary.
  • Advanced skills in ECG and arrhythmia recognition are required.
