As a Lead Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing automation solutions that integrate seamlessly within Wesco's operational framework.

Your responsibilities will include spearheading the integration and deployment of commercially available fulfillment systems, which are essential for optimizing material handling and movement across various operations.

You will also contribute to the formulation and dissemination of the Global Automation Roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:


Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Information Technology and Operations, to establish and implement guidelines that enhance warehouse operational processes through automation.

Analyze and interpret project specifications while managing the budget, schedule, and scope of design initiatives. Engage in simulation and emulation activities.

Work closely with the Finance department to assess automation systems via cost analysis and capital expenditure requests, ensuring the justification of automation projects.

Provide education and training to technology deployment and warehouse operations personnel regarding the architecture, usability, and functionality of automation systems.
Oversee the implementation of automation projects from design to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Develop comprehensive hardware and software solutions to address complex challenges with evolving requirements.
Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency through automation initiatives.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.

Preferred Certifications:
Certified Automation Professional (CAP); Project Management Professional (PMP); Six Sigma.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a strong background in Robotics or Mechatronic Systems.
Proficiency in CAD and eCAD tools, along with hands-on experience in developing proof-of-concept models and prototypes.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
Strong communication skills for conveying concepts and producing technical documentation.
Experience in evaluating designs, performance, and logistical trade-offs for hardware systems.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
