Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at GE Aerospace. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibration and Inspection: Perform calibration, inspection, and testing of measuring instruments/equipment, including gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret assembly and machine detail part blueprints, specifications, GD&T, and other quality documents pertaining to the manufacture of products produced or purchased.
  • Inspection Instrumentation: Use inspection instruments, including CMM's (MCOSMOS software), optical comparators, micrometers, gauge blocks, calipers, and indicators to measure precision machined aircraft components.
  • Mathematical Calculations: Perform necessary mathematical calculations as required with minimum amount of training.
  • Inspection and Sampling: Conduct diversity of inspections, including first article inspections, receiving inspection, final inspection of machined parts and final assemblies, first piece inspections, and in-process sampling.
  • Collaboration and Support: Assist machinists with checking dimensions that cannot be measured at the machine and check parts for conformity to processes and specifications.
  • Procedure Development: Follow standardized procedures with allowable variations defined and devise ordinary gaging/measuring setups.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting: Generate detailed non-conformance records for non-conforming machined parts or assemblies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of machining experience OR 1 year of precision machining inspection experience.
  • GD&T Knowledge: Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Ability to understand blueprints, machining process sheets, and shop specifications.
  • Vision Requirements: Eyesight correctable to 20/20 required.
  • Calibration Principles: Strong knowledge of calibration principles and industry regulations.

  • Independence: Proven ability to work without supervision; ability to work independently with some assistance from senior operators.
  • Test Equipment Operation: Ability to set up and operate most test equipment.
