Job Overview: The Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with the development, organization, and enhancement of quality systems and manufacturing processes to foster a culture of zero defects.

Key Responsibilities - Quality Assurance Specialist:
  • Facilitate and support cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing both basic and advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Oversee customer locations and document any instances of dissatisfaction.
  • Assist Engineering in the formulation of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Responsible for generating valid control plans and inspection standards for both current and new product Early Production Containment (EPC) during product launches.
  • Examine Scrap and FFT data from production to drive ongoing improvements aimed at minimizing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Maintain quality metrics and provide status updates to the Quality Manager and staff as necessary.
  • Conduct internal audits (IATF and Layered Process) and communicate findings, collaborating with a cross-functional team to implement actions that prevent future occurrences.
  • Support Engineering in the creation and execution of enhanced process methods and error-proofing techniques (Poka-Yoke).
  • Evaluate and propose recommendations and execute plans to mitigate risks (such as RPFMEA) while promoting shop floor visualization and 5S methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent training.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting, with a solid understanding of quality-related inspections and audits.
  • Proficient in both basic and advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six-Sigma, or Red-X) to identify and address issues impacting internal manufacturing or the end customer.
  • Experience with assembly and metal fabrication manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statistical principles and the application of statistical process control.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing systems.
  • Familiarity with basic GD&T principles and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
