Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver regulatory, legal, and strategic guidance to internal teams, identifying and cultivating regulatory opportunities.
  • Oversee internal compliance operations, including inventory management and audit procedures.
  • Administer the company's Biotrack THC software, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Coordinate and manage all regulatory inspections in collaboration with pertinent regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct regular audits of security systems and recording devices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation as mandated by law, generating necessary reports for regulatory and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of training programs for facility staff.
  • Work alongside department managers and subject matter experts to draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and various forms as part of a robust Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Oversee the implementation of quality programs and compliance-related policies across operational units.
  • Document updates in training manuals and SOPs.
  • Conduct periodic assessments to ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Engage in the refinement of quality procedures and validation of processes.
  • Identify and resolve potential, serious, or recurring issues impacting product quality or compliance.
  • Establish and uphold quality assurance standards, providing technical recommendations in production and packaging.
  • Manage the vendor approval process for incoming products and consumables, performing risk assessments and conducting supplier audits.
  • Supervise all third-party quality assurance testing for flower batches and various products, fostering relationships with testing laboratories.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; undergraduate degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; background in cannabis regulatory compliance or legal fields is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of state and local cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Experience in developing and training team members on SOP implementation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel; experience with QMS is ideal.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must adhere to all legal or company regulations within the industry.

  • Proven ability to work independently and lead projects, as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and deliver meaningful results.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to evaluate critical information, make informed recommendations, and resolve issues.
  • Detail-oriented with proficient legal writing capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining regulations comprehensively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Foster a culture of quality and change management by empowering team members and colleagues.
