Water Quality Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the City of Richland. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring wastewater treatment plant and compost facility equipment to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant and compost facility equipment to meet quality specifications
- Respond to, evaluate, and take corrective action necessary for after-hours emergency calls concerning the stormwater and sewer collection systems
- Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and be on paid standby duty for a 7-day period each month
- Meet regulatory requirements and ensure the Wastewater Treatment Plant is operating efficiently and effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience in wastewater operations
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Washington State Group III Wastewater Operator Certification
- Prior experience working with and reporting to wastewater-related regulatory agencies
- Level 3 or 4 Wastewater Treatment Plant operations experience
