Lead Engineer for Airport Civil Projects

We are seeking a qualified Airport Civil Engineering Practice Lead to enhance our operations in the Southeast Region, specifically in Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing and nurturing business relationships to secure projects across various airport types.
- Formulating strategic plans and overseeing the execution of diverse airport initiatives, including federally and state-funded improvement programs, as well as local projects at both public and private airports.
- Creating contract specifications and preparing bid estimates.
- Coordinating with engineering design teams and other disciplines to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborating with different Volkert departments to promote aviation-related services to clients throughout the Southeast Region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer registration with the Florida Board of Professional Engineers or the ability to obtain it within three months.
- Experience in designing FAA and State DOT aviation projects within a designated client base.
- Proven track record in business development.
- Capability to recruit, manage, and inspire team members.
- Established relationships with airports in Florida.
- Management experience covering all project phases: grant facilitation, design, bidding, construction administration, and project closeout to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Demonstrated compliance with individual airport master plans, federal grant assurance requirements, FAA and state design standards, and project scopes.
- Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars relevant to airport design and construction, including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, grading/drainage, and pavement markings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in general office software, including MS Office and Faarfield.
