Your Role

WSP is seeking a Lead Water Resources Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative team.

Are you an experienced water resources engineer who thrives on the technical challenges of engineering design? Are you eager to collaborate with an international organization and a well-established team of experts? This position offers an excellent opportunity for a design engineer focused on tackling complex technical issues. You will be responsible for designing and analyzing engineering projects, overseeing tasks, and identifying new business prospects. The role will primarily involve projects related to natural systems restoration, stormwater management, dredging, and other related initiatives.

Your Contributions

  • Guide and mentor a team of junior and mid-level engineers and scientists.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to clients.
  • Conduct both fieldwork and office-based tasks related to water resources projects.
  • Utilize CAD modeling, GIS, and other relevant software tools.
  • Prepare calculations, designs, and recommendations for water resources initiatives.
  • Draft construction bid documents, technical reports, permit applications, and proposals.
  • Manage and lead projects within a team-oriented environment.
  • Develop client relationships and prepare proposals.
  • Adhere to our safety protocols.

Who You Are

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, agricultural, or civil engineering.
  • 7-10 years of relevant post-graduate experience in engineering.
  • Experience in a consulting environment.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida, or in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration within three months of employment.
  • Trained project manager.
  • Effective communicator (both oral and written) of technical information.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to engage with clients and prepare reports and proposals.
  • Clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
  • Drug screening is a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree(s) in engineering.
  • Familiarity with Florida hydrology and water resource challenges.
  • Established client relationships and project experience in Florida.
  • Connections with Florida's water management districts.
  • Experience with water modeling tools such as ICPR, HEC, MODFLOW is advantageous.
