Position Overview:
ARA is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist to enhance our engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the acquisition, storage, and processing of data and imagery obtained from high-speed inertial profiler survey vehicles, focusing on metrics such as rut depth, smoothness, and cross-slope.
- Conduct thorough analyses using MS VBA macros to ensure compliance with state specifications related to construction quality assurance.
- Revise existing analytical codes or create new programming solutions as required.
- Offer guidance and support to technical staff during profiler data collection efforts.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
- In-depth analysis for pavement evaluation or management objectives.
- Preparation of technical documentation and presentation materials.
- Evaluation of other nondestructive testing data pertinent to pavement infrastructure condition, including laser crack measurement systems, falling weight deflectometers, and ground penetrating radar.
Qualifications for the Senior Civil Engineering Specialist:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
- Strong understanding of standard pavement engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and specialized pavement evaluation tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in pavement engineering.
- Expertise in analyzing nondestructive pavement testing and condition data.
- Familiarity with Microsoft VBA programming.
