Position Summary

The Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth by fostering and nurturing relationships with clients and customers. Responsibilities include identifying potential clients, following up on sales leads, and maintaining strong connections with current customers. This role may also involve suggesting marketing strategies tailored to specific market segments. The Sales Representative is expected to prepare quotes based on customer specifications and engage with clients to address any discrepancies throughout the sales and delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish connections with prospective clients.
  • Build and sustain relationships with existing customers.
  • Participate in industry trade shows to discover new sales leads and strengthen ties with current clients.
  • Direct sales efforts by analyzing the current and potential volume of clients.
  • Keep management updated by submitting activity and results reports, including daily call logs, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual analyses.
  • Monitor industry trends to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Track competitors by gathering current market information on pricing, products, and marketing techniques.
  • Advise on marketing strategies aimed at specific regions or demographics.
  • Propose modifications in products, services, and policies based on evaluations of results and competitive developments.
  • Address customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions, and preparing reports for management.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
  • Analyze customer needs and requests.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations about the company to groups.
  • Adjust sales presentation content based on the type of sales outlet or market factor.
  • Provide customers with recommendations for products or features as appropriate.
  • Prepare quotes for customers.
  • Engage with customers to clarify product definitions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review customer agreements and recommend changes as needed.
  • Consult with Operations and Engineering teams to resolve inquiries.
  • Interpret technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to launch new products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, ability to meet sales goals, and effective closing techniques.
  • Experience in territory management and prospecting.
  • Negotiation skills and self-confidence.
  • In-depth product knowledge and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build client relationships and motivation for sales.
  • Familiarity with various concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Extensive experience and judgment are relied upon to plan and achieve goals.

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Education and Experience

A minimum of a 2-year degree in a related field is required, with a preference for a 4-year degree. Relevant sales experience of 2 to 5 years is preferred, particularly in industrial products.

Work Environment

  • Office setting with a laptop.
  • Opportunity to work from home occasionally.
  • Travel requirements range from 33% to 50%.
