Job Title: Parent-Child Specialist

Job Summary:

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is seeking a highly skilled Parent-Child Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Parenting Services department, you will play a critical role in supporting families affected by substance use, trauma, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and technical assistance to substance use treatment programs and community-based settings on child development, parenting, and recovery.
  • Develop and implement trainings on related issues, including the impacts of substance use disorders on families.
  • Offer one-on-one support to parents on individual parent-child issues.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and Parenting Services team to review training agendas and materials.
  • Work with state agencies to develop and support family services in substance use treatment programs.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance, particularly on evidence-based practices.
  • Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and child welfare issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse ethnic and cultural communities.
