Warby Parker is seeking a talented Licensed Optical Retail Leadership Specialist to enhance our expanding in-house Optical team.

(In other organizations, this role may be referred to as Optical Retail Supervisor.) In this position, you will leverage your professional expertise and product knowledge to deliver outstanding experiences for our clientele.

Whether assisting loyal Warby Parker customers or welcoming new eyewear users, your goal will be to ensure they leave feeling thrilled and confident about their eyewear choices. (Our frames are truly exceptional; discover how they are crafted.) As both a mentor and a collaborative team member, you will guide your store's Opticians and step in to assist customers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optical Functions: Engage directly with customers to fulfill their eyewear requirements, take precise measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, ensuring meticulous accuracy.
  • Verify that our completed eyewear meets both our optical standards and customer specifications.
  • Utilize your knowledge to clarify prescription terminology and product selections for customers.

Leadership Duties:

  • Report to the Store Leader, collaborating to forecast staffing needs and oversee the Optician Apprentice Program.
  • Manage a team of Opticians by providing constructive feedback, conducting ongoing development discussions, and exemplifying best practices on the sales floor.
  • Maintain exceptional service standards when interacting with customers and implement retail experience initiatives that enhance customer loyalty and engagement.
  • Stay informed about HR policies and procedures to foster a productive and safe workplace culture, utilizing company resources to boost employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Support overall store operations, inventory management, and business functions.

Who You Are:

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states requiring licensure (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states) with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
  • A strong leader and mentor who demonstrates exemplary behavior, drives optical performance metrics, and adheres to rigorous optical standards.
  • Capable of operating with professionalism and open-mindedness when making team-related decisions.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail sectors.
  • A clear and effective communicator, able to simplify technical jargon for customer understanding.
  • Dedicated to exceeding expectations to ensure customer and team satisfaction.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Someone who takes their responsibilities seriously but maintains a sense of humor.
  • Not listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
