Director of Business Development

The Colorado Health Institute (CHI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our strategic partnerships and business development efforts. As the Strategic Partnership Director, you will be responsible for fostering relationships and creating opportunities to support CHI's mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Partnership Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership strategy that aligns with CHI's mission and vision, identifying new or existing partners, markets, and revenue streams to enhance CHI's position as a public health institute.
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private agencies, organizations, and funders with an interest in health and well-being, ensuring that partnerships align with and enhance CHI's value.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team: Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to evaluate and ensure CHI's projects, marketing, and communications align with and enhance its value.
- Cultivate Business Development Opportunities: Identify and cultivate new business development opportunities, including grants, contracts, and philanthropic partnerships, to support CHI's mission and vision.
- Develop and Implement Best Practices: Develop, implement, and communicate best practices for making decisions about contracts and grants to pursue, ensuring that CHI's proposal and business development efforts are effective and efficient.
- Manage Proposal Development Operations: Direct CHI's proposal and business development efforts, ensuring that proposals comply with the requirements and guidelines specified by the funder.
- Support Organizational Growth: Work with the senior leadership team and CEO to implement CHI's strategic plan, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI-B) goals, and support the growth and development of CHI's staff.
- Understanding of CHI's Mission and Values: Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to CHI's mission, vision, and values, with a proven track record of securing state and federal grants and contracts, as well as developing and executing local and national philanthropic and donor partnerships and earned revenue strategies.
- Proposal Development Expertise: In-depth proposal development expertise, with the ability to develop and implement a strategic vision that aligns with a nonprofit organization's mission and goals, and a demonstrated ability to lead with cultural competence, humility, and responsiveness, fostering an inclusive team culture.
- Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability to lead with cultural competence, humility, and responsiveness, fostering an inclusive team culture, and a strong understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI-B) in the workplace.
- Competitive Compensation: A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $140,000 to $190,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefit programs, as well as a 401(k)-retirement plan with 7% match.
