Position Overview

Wider Circle, an innovative healthcare start-up based in Silicon Valley, is on the lookout for dedicated Community Engagement Specialists. This role is pivotal in assisting community members in understanding their health plans, fostering friendships, and enhancing their overall sense of purpose.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with a team of enthusiastic individuals committed to improving community health. Building strong relationships is essential, as trust is the foundation of our engagement efforts. Successful candidates will interact with community members face-to-face, nurturing meaningful connections that promote well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome community members in their homes and introduce them to our initiatives.
  • Provide information about the benefits of enrolling in ECM services, demonstrating knowledge of ECM and CalAIM offerings.
  • Lead the Wider Circle Connect For Life program, focusing on trust-building, health promotion, and physical activity.
  • Engage with members primarily through in-person interactions and follow up via phone to encourage participation in local meetings.
  • Recruit new members to join their neighbors in the Connect For Life Program.
  • Serve as a liaison between members and their health plans.
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations to enhance service offerings for our members.

Qualifications

  • Strong listening skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • A natural connector of individuals.
  • Exhibit empathy and compassion in interactions.
  • Dynamic and engaging personality, preferring relationship-building over instructing.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to navigate to members' homes.
  • Proficient in using applications and software.
  • Comfortable working remotely and self-motivated.
  • Experience in community organizing and event planning.
  • Comfortable with one-on-one communication.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a canvasser is preferred.
  • Experience working with SDOH and low-income communities is advantageous.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Able to persuade and influence others effectively.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and capable of standing or walking for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Contract position.
  • Hourly wage ranging from $20 to $23.
