POSITION TITLE: Room Attendant Support Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping

DIVISION: Rooms

EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Room Attendant Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of the housekeeping team by providing essential assistance to Room Attendants. This includes the timely delivery of clean linens, collection of soiled linens, and managing waste disposal throughout the hotel premises. Additionally, the specialist will engage in various cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and organize the housekeeping supply cart daily.
  • Restock linen closets to ensure readiness for the next day’s operations.
  • Execute deep cleaning tasks as required, including high dusting and mattress rotation.
  • Manage the disposal of trash and recyclables efficiently.
  • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of hallways, public areas, and storage closets.
  • Operate commercial floor care equipment for carpet shampooing and floor polishing as needed.
  • Report any missing items from guest rooms to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Notify the Housekeeping Manager or Engineering of any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with established procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests with a friendly and efficient approach.
  • Assist Room Attendants with cleaning tasks, including making beds, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and providing nightly turn-down service.

  • Exhibit a friendly and energetic demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a courteous and attentive manner.
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills to understand and address guest concerns.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel safety protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and staff. This includes completing safety training, adhering to safe work practices, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in hospitality or housekeeping is preferred.
