With a strong focus on excellence and nurturing agency relationships, our Sales and Marketing division is in search of a property and casualty field territory underwriter.

In this field-based role, you will be essential in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while driving profitable growth for our agency partners in your designated territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting:
Assessing risks, pricing, negotiating, and making informed decisions on commercial business.

Marketing:
Promoting and soliciting business across all available units within the territory to cultivate a robust and diverse agency relationship.

Territory Development:
Leading the territory in strategic planning, ownership, and execution of growth and profit initiatives, including new agency appointments.

Agency Leadership:
Establishing deep relationships with each assigned agency to create a diverse and profitable portfolio, fulfilling our vision to be the best company serving independent agents by maintaining a consistent presence within agency offices.

Leadership Provision:
Collaborating with and guiding other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success through effective communication, support, and teamwork.

Market Research:
Staying informed on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, and primary competitors, and making informed decisions based on this knowledge.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Willingness to travel and visit agencies within the territory regularly.
Strategic business planning skills.
Passion for leadership.
A valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
Proven experience in underwriting, with a minimum of 2 years in commercial underwriting; more than 3 years preferred.
Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), professional selling) are advantageous.
