Position Overview:

Aquent is in search of a Corporate Accountant to enhance our Corporate Accounting Team.

The Corporate Accountant plays a vital role within the Finance Department, overseeing the daily accounting functions. Team members are tasked with executing specialized accounting activities essential for maintaining the company's general ledger.

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and alongside two other Corporate Accountants, the daily responsibilities include accurately recording and monitoring the company's expenditures, assets, and liabilities.

This role also encompasses the preparation of financial statements and active participation in the annual audit process.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Post journal entries and track various revenue and expense accruals.
  • Manage cash application entries and related transactions.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for accounts including Cash, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany, Accruals, and Prepaid accounts.
  • Assist in uploading and posting complex payroll journal entries into Great Plains Dynamics.
  • Support the reconciliation of payroll activities across GL, Internal Systems, and Ceridian.
  • Generate and maintain various reports and analyses as requested.
  • Contribute to the monthly consolidation and reporting of Aquent's international operations.
  • Facilitate the creation and distribution of draft and final monthly financial packages.
  • Assist in preparing and documenting schedules for the annual audit.
  • Manage the filing of various documents and uphold Aquent's digital filing system.
  • Support various special projects and ad hoc reporting as directed.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting with 1-3 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related field is required.

Experience in an automated accounting environment utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is essential, with familiarity in Great Plains and MRW Report Writer being advantageous.

Proficiency in Excel, including skills in pivot tables and VLOOKUP, along with familiarity with Google Docs, is preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Quick learning capacity for systems and processes is essential, alongside excellent customer service and communication skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information are critical.


Desired Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, advanced Excel skills, comprehensive accounting knowledge, experience with financial accounting software, analytical skills, and organizational proficiency are essential. Experience with implementing financial software packages and project accounting software is a plus.
