Position Overview:
The Assistant Site Construction Manager plays a crucial role in advancing the organization's home building objectives.

This individual will guide future homeowners and volunteers in executing various construction tasks, including site preparation, foundation work, rough framing, installation of windows and doors, weatherproofing, siding, painting, flooring, millwork, interior painting, and landscaping.

This role involves collaboration with Habitat staff, volunteers, homeowners, subcontractors, Habitat partners, and city inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer and Partner Homeowners Management:
- Lead Habitat crews and volunteers in home construction
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times
- Educate new volunteers on necessary skills
- Conduct regular quality inspections
- Assist in training Crew Leads and volunteers
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment for volunteers
- Ensure respectful and timely communication with volunteers and homeowners
- Identify and fill volunteer job needs effectively

Construction Duties:
- Perform hands-on construction tasks as directed
- Address any construction work that does not meet quality standards
- Propose efficient building practices and cost-saving materials to management
- Assist in supervising site preparation and layout
- Oversee job sites on designated workdays to ensure compliance with permits and plans
- Maintain daily updates on safety inspections and logs
- Train volunteers and homeowners on construction tasks and safety measures
- Respond to homeowner warranty issues and perform necessary repairs


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Proven ability to work effectively with and lead volunteers
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or contracting, particularly in carpentry or framing
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Any combination of education, certification, and experience demonstrating the ability to fulfill the role's responsibilities
- Familiarity with digital tools that enhance efficiency or willingness to learn
- Bilingual in Spanish

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Position is primarily located at construction sites
- Requires physical activity including climbing, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in various weather conditions
- Frequent lifting and moving of items over 50 pounds

Schedule:
- Varies between Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, with occasional events outside regular hours.

Starting Salary Expectations:
- Minimum of $25.74/hour, with a midpoint of $31.37/hour, based on qualifications and experience. Full wage range is $25.74/hour to $37.33/hour.
