Our reputable client is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to enhance their dynamic team in the Bristol and Bath area.

As a proficient engineer, you will bring valuable experience in maintenance engineering.


Your responsibilities will encompass both mechanical and electrical tasks, focusing on the planned and reactive maintenance of factory machinery, including CNC machining centers and hydraulic and pneumatic testing and assembly equipment.

Key Responsibilities – Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

1. Ensure optimal performance of all production machinery through effective electrical and mechanical maintenance.


2. Minimize unplanned production downtime by implementing proactive maintenance strategies for plant and equipment.

3. Identify and eliminate potential failure modes in processes and machinery.


4. Develop and implement efficient Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs and planned maintenance schedules to enhance machine availability and meet company performance metrics.

5. Oversee breakdown management and scheduled servicing of plant and equipment.

6. Participate in the installation and commissioning of new machinery.

7. Conduct general maintenance tasks on a daily basis.

8. Uphold high standards of 5S practices.

9. Interpret and analyze electrical, mechanical, and fluid schematics.

10. Assess and acquire external spare parts and resources to minimize process and machinery downtime.

11. Maintain safety stock levels for critical maintenance spare items.

12. Keep accurate records for internal and regulatory compliance.


13. Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and execute repairs promptly to reduce operational downtime.

14. Document work activities, tasks performed, and parts utilized through inventory systems.


15. Collaborate with various departments to enhance machine reliability and address equipment failures effectively.

16. Engage in projects aimed at improving engineering installations and commissioning processes.

17. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements – Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, particularly in electrical and mechanical maintenance engineering, and should exhibit:

- Strong teamwork capabilities with adaptability to changing priorities.

- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments.

- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

- Proven expertise in multi-skilled maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance.

- Initiative and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Familiarity with current IEE regulations.

- Proactive approach to risk management to ensure operational continuity.

- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal abilities.

- Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

- High motivation and ability to perform well under pressure.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.

Desirable qualifications include:

- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and a drive to develop Six Sigma skills through formal training.

- Relevant certifications in Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.

- Training in Six Sigma (minimum Yellow Belt) with a proven implementation record.
