Assistant Engineering Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Assistant Engineering Supervisor is tasked with managing daily operational functions and guiding long-term strategic planning through the oversight of various managerial roles, including Technical Executive, Assistant AV Manager, M&E Admin Officer/Assistant, M&E Crew Leader, and M&E Crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the Maintenance & Engineering teams in their routine activities.
- Review and manage the scheduling for the Maintenance & Engineering Crew and Crew Leader to ensure adequate shift coverage.
- Organize and facilitate daily operational meetings to address assignments, training topics, and other pertinent matters.
- Ensure adherence to established Policies & Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI) by all department members.
Maintenance Planning:
- Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program, along with corrective maintenance and project initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of departmental checklists, logs, and documentation.
- Actively seek to identify and address guest needs through feedback and comments.
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions, development programs, and coaching for the Maintenance & Engineering team to ensure the delivery of exceptional service.
Safety and Emergency Management:
- Promote accident prevention and safety awareness by adhering to job safety analyses and fostering a safe work environment.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies, acting in an Engineering capacity to safeguard guests and staff while preserving the integrity of the building and its systems.
Energy Management:
- Monitor and analyze energy and utility consumption, seeking opportunities for conservation and reporting findings.
Fire Safety:
- Oversee fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring familiarity with their operations and readiness to handle emergencies.
Performance Management:
- Engage in performance evaluations and counseling for the Maintenance & Engineering department.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to Hard Rock International (HRI), NSF & HPL audit standards across all Maintenance & Engineering sections, as well as compliance with ESG Policies & Procedures.
Guest Interaction:
- Inspect guest accommodations to ensure compliance with Hard Rock International standards.
- Maintain a hands-on approach with team members in problem-solving and operational activities.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee efficient stock control and inventory management to minimize operational expenses and waste through careful monitoring of parts usage.
Environmental Responsibility:
- Promote environmentally friendly practices, including waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Ensure that all staff possess the necessary knowledge to address guest inquiries regarding hotel operations and amenities.
Technical Skills:
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including walk-in freezers, industrial steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with Chargeman AO (Low Voltage System) certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the hotel industry.
- Strong expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen Equipment, and related trades.
- Excellent problem-solving, management, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with fire and life safety protocols.
- Ability to maintain a positive team atmosphere and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
