Reporting Structure:
Associate Director, Self-Care R&D Packaging

Location:

Currently based in Skillman, NJ, with plans to relocate to Summit, NJ in the near future.

Travel Requirements: 10%

Compensation:
$100,000 - $130,000

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Packaging Engineer will spearhead the development of innovative packaging solutions for the Self-Care product line, which includes well-known brands like TYLENOL, MOTRIN, ZYRTEC, IMODIUM, BENADRYL, and ZARBEE'S.


Core Duties:


This role involves leading packaging development initiatives, which encompass design and concept creation, prototyping, consumer testing, documentation, and package testing to facilitate product launches.

The successful candidate will take charge of packaging projects and will be adept at influencing cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. This may involve collaboration with both internal and external manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the OTC/Pharma/Device, Cosmetic/Personal Care, Food, or a related industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials and processes involved in the design and production of OTC drug packaging.
  • Experience in developing packaging testing protocols.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and lead across various functions and levels.
  • Proficient in technical leadership and project management.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting with minimal guidance.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with relevant government regulations pertaining to OTC drug packaging.
  • Experience with OTC/NDA drugs is highly desirable.
  • A strong emphasis on sustainability and eCommerce packaging.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and generate insightful reports.
