Reporting Structure:
Reports to: Associate Director, Self-Care R&D Packaging
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Packaging Engineer will lead the development of innovative packaging solutions for the Self-Care franchise, which encompasses well-known brands like TYLENOL, MOTRIN, ZYRTEC, IMODIUM, BENADRYL, and ZARBEE'S.
This role involves:
- Overseeing new product packaging development, including design and concept creation.
- Conducting prototyping and consumer testing.
- Creating specifications and documentation.
- Executing package testing to facilitate product launches.
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in packaging projects and will be adept at influencing cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, which may involve collaboration with internal or external manufacturing sites.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the OTC/Pharma/Device, Cosmetic/Personal Care, Food, or a related sector.
- In-depth knowledge of materials and processes involved in the construction and manufacturing of OTC drug product packaging.
- Experience in developing package testing plans.
- Strong ability to collaborate and lead across various functions and levels.
- Technical leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple rapidly changing priorities with minimal supervision.
Desired:
- Understanding of government regulations applicable to OTC drug product packaging.
- Experience with OTC/NDA drugs is highly desirable.
- A focus on sustainability and eCommerce packaging solutions.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and present data-driven conclusions.
