Key Responsibilities
The Molding Quality Engineer will be tasked with ensuring that the suppliers associated with the company uphold the highest standards of quality and operational performance.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in the personal care sector and a proven history of fostering supplier excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, ESG) to enhance supplier executional excellence.
- Partner with Procurement, Quality, and ESG to develop and refine packaging supplier technical assessments.
- Create and implement supplier performance metrics and scorecards tailored to the needs of Packaging, Procurement, Quality, and ESG partners.
- Conduct supplier audits and technical evaluations to assess core capabilities in materials, product design, and processing technologies, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Co-lead with Procurement in establishing Packaging Supplier Joint Business Planning and sourcing strategies to collaborate with suppliers across various tiers.
- Unlock value and drive agility by partnering with packaging suppliers and external laboratories to establish a Supplier Package Testing certification program.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with regional/global packaging suppliers, ensuring strategic partnerships and regular performance evaluations.
- In collaboration with Procurement, co-lead supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding processes to secure high-quality, cost-effective packaging materials and services.
- In partnership with Supplier Quality, drive supplier performance metrics, conduct regular assessments, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Plastics Molding Supplier Quality Management or a similar domain.
- LEAN Manufacturing experience.
- Strong understanding of plastic molding materials, technologies, and processes.
- Familiarity with packaging quality standards.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis for addressing plastic molding challenges.
- Experience in the personal care industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
