Successful candidates employed in this role for four (4) years may qualify for advancement to a DCS Specialist Trainee Position ($21.70 hourly).

ROLE OF A VISITATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

A DCS Visitation Support Specialist is tasked with the safe escorting and/or transportation of clients to DCS visitation meetings while documenting relevant observations.
A typical day may involve:

• Overseeing visitation sessions between clients (parents and children)

• Inputting case notes into the electronic Case Management System

• Driving on state business to transport children to various appointments

• Performing additional duties as assigned

Flexibility in work hours may be necessary, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:
Computer systems and software (Microsoft Office Suite), mobile technology, digital scheduling tools (Outlook), and video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams).

Skills in:
Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships; general clerical tasks such as data entry and filing; effective verbal and written communication; gathering and eliciting information; modeling professional conduct with clients; time management and multitasking; and observational skills.

Abilities to:
Acquire knowledge of human and social services; understand and comply with relevant State, Federal, and local regulations, as well as DCS policies and procedures; adhere to casework principles; comprehend and follow moderately complex written and oral instructions; organize information logically; prepare accurate written reports in a specified format; actively listen and provide supportive attention to clients; and obtain and maintain CPR Certification.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VISITATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST: High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Level one Fingerprint Clearance card - Arizona. Candidates operating a vehicle for State business must possess a current, valid driver's license, complete all necessary training, and pass required driving record checks. The license must be valid and not revoked or suspended. Employees driving on state business must maintain acceptable driving records and complete required driver training. Those using personal vehicles for state business must maintain the required liability insurance. Selected candidates must successfully pass a written examination, background check, Motor Vehicle Report review, and DCS Center Registry check. If driving is an essential function of the job, the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
