Role Overview

The Educational Support Specialist may conduct a limited number of classes and/or serve as a substitute for current educators. This position offers an opportunity to immerse in the BASIS Charter School framework and methodology, equipping you for future full-time teaching roles or other educational positions.

Educational Support Specialists play a crucial role in all facets of school life, assisting with various student-related tasks and contributing to a vibrant, achievement-focused school environment.

Essential Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory
  • Possession of a valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Availability for full-time work
  • Willingness to undertake and succeed in the NES Elementary Education Assessment, if required
  • Openness to potential assignments at different campuses
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in both subject matter expertise and BASIS Charter School instructional strategies
Typical Responsibilities (may vary based on campus requirements)
  • Classroom instruction, both as a part-time educator and on-call substitute
  • Supporting teachers with classroom management
  • Providing academic assistance and tutoring to students
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers on events, experiments, and assessments
  • Working alongside educators to assess student progress and needs
  • Proctoring examinations
  • Overseeing students during non-scheduled periods, including supervision during early and late arrivals and lunch
  • Facilitating study groups
  • Assisting school leadership with behavior management and discipline
  • Supporting the execution of key school programs
