Role Responsibilities

The Executive Consultant-Facilitator, Strategist, and Meeting Design Expert will offer expert meeting design, consulting services, analysis, and coordination support to facilitate transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning, organizational change management, and meeting design and facilitation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing thought leadership and expert meeting design and facilitation to promote interagency change initiatives and address complex, far-reaching issues related to natural disasters.
  • Taking a lead role in effectively engaging clients, delivering presentations, conducting workshops, and assisting groups in resolving challenges.
  • Maintaining a strategic perspective on all meetings and their interdependencies to ensure that outcomes contribute to disaster mitigation and resilience.
  • Regularly meeting with clients and senior leaders to comprehend the purpose, intent, and desired outcomes for workshops, meetings, stakeholder engagement events, and public-facing documents.
  • Thinking strategically, managing risks, translating strategies into actionable plans, and providing key input into project schedules and deliverables.
  • Designing and implementing organizational change management strategies focused on stakeholder engagement, adoption, and communication.
  • Coordinating meeting-related tasks and reviewing deliverables for completeness and compliance with client requirements.
  • Taking primary responsibility for developing a process agenda, including the meeting timeline and speaking notes/scripts for each presenter.
  • Creating content and slides for speaker presentations.
  • Managing meeting logistics, including participant agendas, invitations, conference room reservations, meeting materials, summaries, and minutes.
  • Coordinating with clients and key stakeholders frequently to ensure the completion of action items.
  • Tracking meeting-related action items for the internal project team, leadership group, working groups, and committees.
  • Maintaining the SharePoint repository.
  • Developing communication products to convey information and facilitate stakeholder buy-in.
  • Formulating conclusions and recommendations, writing reports, and assisting with briefings and presentations.
  • Coordinating the development of communications for senior leadership, Congress, and the Administration.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to team members as appropriate.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work independently.
Qualifications

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field required (e.g., Public Relations, Public Affairs, Communication, Journalism, Business, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Change Management, or Political Science).
  • IAF certification required or in progress.

Skills:

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to assume a leadership role when necessary.
  • A detail-oriented individual capable of quickly assimilating and applying new concepts and approaches.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write white papers and deliver formal presentations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and summarize complex documents and information.
  • Capacity to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • An experienced leader with relevant industry experience.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a professional demeanor.
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and a strong operational focus.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is politically savvy and a team player.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 years' experience in a related field, with a preference for meeting facilitation for federal government clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $200,000/year. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. SRE considers a variety of factors in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The displayed estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.

Work Environment:

The primary work location for this position is within the Washington D.C. Metro area, with remote work options available but not guaranteed. Travel expenses are not reimbursed for those living outside the commutable area.
