Position Summary:
You will be responsible for investigating and managing property claims, determining liability, gathering information, reviewing coverage details, coordinating appraisals, and settling claims. This role involves fieldwork and reporting to the Property Claim Manager, focusing on homeowner property claims.
Compensation:
The compensation range for this position is as follows:
- Field Adjuster: Minimum: $55,000 / year - Maximum: $90,000 / year
- Senior Field Adjuster: Minimum: $67,000 / year - Maximum: $111,000 / year
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate the origin and cause of claims by engaging with insured parties, claimants, agents, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed, ensuring claims are handled in good faith.
- Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
- Conduct on-site inspections when necessary, assess damages, and negotiate claims with involved parties.
- Respond to customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and close claims files.
- Interpret and apply policy documents, leases, and contracts to assigned losses.
- Provide updates on the claims process and status to all parties involved.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
- Experience managing first-party and third-party claims across multiple lines.
- Ability to handle moderately complex claims effectively.
- Strong understanding of casualty coverage policies and endorsements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the claims handling process.
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.
- State-specific property casualty claims licensing must be obtained as required.
Travel Expectations:
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
- Catastrophe duty may require travel up to 75% as applicable.
Physical and Working Conditions:
- Ability to navigate various environments, including potentially hazardous locations.
- Physical tasks may include lifting objects up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor elements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Xactimate software is preferred for both adjuster levels.
- A minimum of five years of property field claims experience is required for the senior level.
- Experience in construction, restoration, or mitigation is advantageous.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily home-based, with 80% of your time spent working remotely or in the field. A company vehicle is provided for business use, with occasional travel to the office for team meetings and training sessions.
