***Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist***

COGS is collaborating with a prominent global entity, a multi-billion dollar organization that delivers equipment and automation solutions across various heavy manufacturing sectors, as they seek a Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist to enhance their operational safety protocols.

With the surge in market demand for their offerings, the company is in a phase of expansion, creating significant opportunities for professional growth. They are in search of a dedicated Safety Engineer to oversee and improve their safety practices.

This role is based on-site in Mentor, OH, offering a competitive salary of up to $100K plus a 20% bonus (with a proven history of annual bonuses).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a collaborative team environment to execute projects, programs, and processes focused on enhancing environmental sustainability, minimizing workplace injuries, and ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Act as the primary expert for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters.
  • Assist in the management of ISO 14001 and 45001 systems by participating in audits, establishing objectives and targets, and conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations to uncover root causes and formulate effective response strategies.
  • Lead investigations and address inquiries from regulatory bodies such as OSHA, BWC, and EPA.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to proactively identify and address EHS compliance issues prior to equipment installation.
  • Revise and implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for machinery.
  • Educate the Operations team on new EHS and regulatory standards.
  • Update and create Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) specifications.
  • Remain informed about regulations and standards established by organizations such as ISO, EPA, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 & 45001, EPA, NEC, and OSHA standards is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of relevant safety experience in heavy industry is essential.
