Position Overview:

The Plant Manager is accountable for overseeing all facets of Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Quality Assurance, Schedule Compliance, and Employee Welfare at the Hazleton and Mountain Top facilities. This role is crucial in supporting the Annual Operating Plan and involves collaboration with local leadership and corporate teams to establish operational strategies, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative culture that promotes employee growth and teamwork.
  • Assess and enhance the skills of the existing workforce within the manufacturing plant.
  • Streamline manufacturing operations through standardized systems and reliable equipment performance.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction.
  • Maximize plant efficiency while ensuring product quality and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with commercial and R&D teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead and develop the plant management team to work cohesively.
  • Communicate the business vision effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage the annual operating plan and resource allocation to meet production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and develop programs to maintain a world-class safety record.
  • Direct capital projects to align with strategic operational goals.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, preferably within a reputable consumer packaging organization.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in implementing operational strategies that enhance profitability.
  • Ability to work effectively with a unionized workforce.
  • High-energy individual with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of attracting and mentoring top talent.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in applying lean manufacturing tools to improve operational metrics.
