Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee our EHS programs at our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations while cultivating a culture of safety and accountability within the organization. This position is essential for minimizing hazards, decreasing incidents, and fostering a secure and healthy workplace for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and lead the plant's EHS management systems in alignment with the overall EHS strategy.
  • Manage the budget for EHS initiatives, consistently seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising the integrity of EHS programs.
  • Oversee the plant's safety audit process, ensuring timely execution and effective use of data to drive improvements.
  • Track, analyze, and report on all EHS performance indicators.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of site-specific EHS policies and procedures, ensuring comprehensive deployment and compliance.
  • Handle all EHS-related incidents, including injury management, investigations, corrective actions, and necessary reporting.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain an understanding of work-related injuries and the workers' compensation program.
  • Ensure that all material safety data sheets (MSDS) are current and accessible.
  • Maintain records related to employee industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Develop and distribute safety training materials for daily meetings and hands-on training sessions.
  • Create an annual training plan tailored to departmental needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations to mitigate risks.
  • Guarantee that the facility meets all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as ASP, OHST, CSP, QEP, or CIH are preferred. Experience in Human Operation Performance (HOP), Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and ISO standards is also desirable.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing context, with expertise in incident investigation and hazard assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Engage in cultural initiatives to promote a positive perception of the EHS department.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees regarding safety protocols and injury reporting.
  • Proficient in data analysis and financial management related to EHS.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Quality Management principles.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required reports to corporate EHS and regulatory agencies.
