Position Overview:
The Plant Manager oversees all facets of Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Schedule Compliance, and Employee Welfare at our facilities. This role involves collaborating with local leadership and corporate teams to establish operational strategies, budgets, and key performance indicators while leading a workforce of over 360 employees in a continuous manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a collaborative culture that promotes employee development and teamwork.
- Assess and nurture existing talent within the manufacturing team.
- Enhance operational efficiency through standardized systems and reliable equipment.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Maximize plant performance by optimizing labor efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with commercial and R&D teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead the plant management team, empowering them to work cohesively.
- Communicate the business vision effectively across all organizational levels.
- Manage the annual operating plan and resource allocation to meet production goals.
- Develop and execute safety programs to maintain a world-class safety record.
- Direct capital programs to support strategic operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Utilize the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) to manage operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, preferably within a reputable consumer packaging organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong financial acumen and experience in implementing operational strategies that enhance profitability.
- Experience in managing a unionized workforce.
- High-energy, creative problem solver with strong analytical and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to attract and mentor top talent.
