Position Overview:

The Plant Manager is accountable for overseeing all facets of manufacturing operations, engineering, environmental health and safety, quality assurance, schedule adherence, compliance, facility management, and employee welfare at our facilities. This role involves collaborating with local leadership and corporate teams to establish operational strategies, budgets, and key performance indicators while leading a workforce of over 360 employees in a continuous manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative culture that promotes employee development and teamwork.
  • Assess and nurture the existing talent within the manufacturing team.
  • Streamline manufacturing processes by implementing standardized systems and ensuring reliable equipment performance.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to enhance key business metrics through continuous improvement and waste reduction.
  • Maximize overall equipment efficiency while minimizing waste and ensuring product quality.
  • Collaborate with commercial and R&D teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance product performance.
  • Lead the plant management team by empowering and developing individuals to work effectively together.
  • Communicate the business vision effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage the annual operating plan and resource allocation to meet production commitments.
  • Support internal stakeholders to achieve profitability targets and deliver high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement safety programs to maintain a world-class safety record.
  • Direct capital programs and expenditures to align with strategic operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Utilize the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) to manage operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, preferably within a reputable consumer packaging organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in implementing operational strategies that enhance profitability.
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce.
  • High-energy, creative problem solver with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of attracting and mentoring top talent.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and strategically.
  • Experienced in applying lean manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement.
