Position Overview:
The Plant Manager is accountable for overseeing all facets of Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Schedule Compliance, and Employee Welfare at our facilities. This role involves collaborating with the local leadership team and corporate offices to formulate a strategic operating plan, budget, and key performance indicators while leading a workforce of over 360 employees in a continuous manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a collaborative culture that promotes employee development and teamwork.
- Assess and enhance the existing talent within the manufacturing facility.
- Streamline manufacturing operations by implementing standardized systems and ensuring reliable equipment performance.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste.
- Maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize scrap while maintaining product quality.
- Collaborate with commercial and R&D teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance product performance.
- Lead the plant management team, empowering individuals to work effectively together.
- Communicate the business vision clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Manage the annual operating plan and resource allocation to meet production commitments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and develop programs to achieve a world-class safety record.
- Direct capital programs and expenditures to align with strategic operational goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, preferably within a reputable consumer packaging organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong financial acumen and experience in implementing operational strategies that enhance profitability.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce.
- High-energy individual with a creative approach to problem-solving and strong analytical skills.
