Position Summary:

The Plant Manager oversees all facets of Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Quality Assurance, Schedule Compliance, and Employee Welfare at our facilities. This role is pivotal in supporting the Annual Operating Plan and involves collaboration with the local leadership team and corporate stakeholders to establish operational strategies, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). The Plant Manager typically manages a workforce of over 360 employees in a continuous manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative culture that promotes employee development and teamwork.
  • Assess and nurture existing talent within the manufacturing team.
  • Streamline manufacturing operations through standardized systems and reliable equipment.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance business metrics and eliminate waste.
  • Maximize plant performance by optimizing labor efficiency and maintaining product quality.
  • Collaborate with commercial and R&D teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead the plant management team by empowering and developing personnel.
  • Communicate the business vision effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage the annual operating plan and resource allocation to meet production commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs to achieve a world-class safety record.
  • Direct capital programs and expenditures to align with strategic operational goals.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, preferably in a respected consumer packaging organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in enhancing profitability through operational strategies.
  • Experience in managing a unionized workforce.
  • High-energy individual with creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical capabilities.
