Senior Director of Technical Program Management

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Technical Program Management to lead our technical program management team. As a key member of our Associate Experience Technology organization, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of critical business goals and building large-scale products and platforms.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who can collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute on key strategic programs. In this role, you will work closely with our Program Delivery Office team to drive all intent for Associate Experiences highest priority initiatives and critical tech-wide programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical programs and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute on key strategic programs.
- Collaborate with our Program Delivery Office team to drive all intent for Associate Experiences highest priority initiatives and critical tech-wide programs.
- Work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
- Develop and lead a world-class team of technical program managers to power real-time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associates.
- Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership, providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
- Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results, with a highly tuned emotional intelligence and good listening skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
- At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs.
- Experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
- 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS.
- 5+ years of building & leading experienced TPM team.
- 5+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms.
- 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
- 5+ years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact.
- Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment.
