About the Role

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Director of Technical Program Management to lead strategic initiatives in Enterprise Data and Machine Learning. As a key member of our team, you will oversee complex technical projects, align cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the Enterprise Data Storage and Consumption strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and drive the planning, execution, and delivery of technical programs related to data storage and consumption, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead high-impact projects, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data management within the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, leverage expertise in program management and technical acumen to drive transformative initiatives.
  • Develop and grow a team of TPMs, while building the foundations for the TPM practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
  • Strong technical backgrounds, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.
  • A quantitative approach to problem-solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
  • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS.
  • 3+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
  • 3+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact.
What We Offer

Capital One offers a competitive salary range of $233,100 - $266,000 for this role, depending on location. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
