Position Overview: We are actively looking for a Product Engineer (CPP). The Customer Product Planning (CPP) role focuses on marketing cutting-edge technology to clients and securing new business opportunities. This position ensures that Joyson Safety Systems proposes technology that is fully aligned with customer requirements while being competitively priced. A comprehensive understanding of safety technology and associated costs in engineering, manufacturing, materials, logistics, and packaging is essential. This role will specifically concentrate on Seatbelt Restraint Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development:
  • Collaborate with clients to gather project planning information for upcoming business proposals.
  • Proactively prepare initial Bill of Materials (BOM) based on project details to expedite the quoting process.
  • Ensure that the technical proposals for new business align with customer approvals and establish qualification plans as necessary.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to enhance Joyson Safety Systems' competitive edge.
  • Quotation Analysis and Technical Proposal Development:
  • Conduct prompt reviews of customer RFQs and create detailed technical proposals that meet client specifications.
  • Organize comprehensive quotation reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Deeply analyze all cost components within the New Cost Model and support formal quotation reviews.
  • Assist in any Customer Technical Reviews related to new business opportunities.

Technology Promotion:

  • Understand and communicate current and emerging technologies to clients.
  • Engage customers in the early stages of technical development to gather insights on future technology needs.
  • Relay customer feedback to the Core Engineering Team for consideration in product development.
  • Identify and communicate technology gaps to Core Engineering for future planning.
  • Coordinate technology showcases with clients, involving necessary team members.

Product Strategy:

  • Maintain a clear Product Road Map and Technology Gap Analysis for each client.
  • Ensure alignment of Product Planning with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Develop and execute R&D Project/Concept Validation Testing to support new technology qualifications.

Client Relations:

  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with clients.
  • Address any technical issues related to new business proposals and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular visits to key clients to strengthen relationships.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients regarding new business projects and technology requirements.

Ethics and Compliance:

  • Lead by example and promote a respectful and open work environment.
  • Be a resource for colleagues regarding ethical conduct and compliance policies.
  • Proactively address ethical challenges and respond effectively to any issues.
  • Understand and adhere to the limits of your authority in decision-making.
  • Complete all required training related to ethics and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with global safety regulations and consumer ratings.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficient in project and time management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a relevant safety product role.
