Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the principal technical authority overseeing the planning and execution of safety-related initiatives throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Develop and uphold a comprehensive product safety strategy while contributing to the product design to ensure adequate safety measures for both active (functional safety) and passive safety elements.
  • Outline and drive the creation of ISO 26262 deliverables in close collaboration with hardware and software development teams.
  • Oversee informal internal and third-party evaluations with recognized authorities.
  • Effectively manage and evaluate safety deliverables during the integration of customer and/or supplier systems, which may involve structuring safety documentation and manuals.
  • Provide expert guidance for safety analysis of products, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Lead efforts to achieve functional safety evaluations for products across various markets governed by different safety regulations such as IEC.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Control Engineering or equivalent (Master's preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive or comparable systems, with electric vehicle or battery integration experience being advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of involvement in functional safety initiatives.
  • Certification in functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS and FMEA tools such as IQ-RM.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires significant interaction within a multi-functional team, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Travel requirements are expected to be minimal, not exceeding 10% of the time, including occasional international travel.
