Position Overview:

The Cooling Systems Product Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of cooling components specifically tailored for electrified vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a range of cooling components throughout various stages of vehicle development.
  • Lead the initial packaging and development of components to achieve cooling performance objectives.
  • Coordinate activities related to CAE, design, prototyping, and testing, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee manufacturability and monitor their progress to meet part maturity and creation milestones.
  • Assist in vehicle assembly and testing, addressing any issues that arise with the components.
  • Manage quality concerns and explore potential cost-saving measures post-vehicle launch.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Entry-level candidates may be considered if they demonstrate strong potential; however, a minimum of 1.5 years of experience with cooling or HVAC components is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to lead and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficient in managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for supplier visits and corporate vehicle assembly support.
  • Familiarity with cooling systems and components is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate proactively with team members, stakeholders, and supervisors.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD design and proficiency in spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Experience in creating and applying component and system DFMEAs and DVP&Rs is advantageous.
  • Understanding of client systems and/or products is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of powertrain software and controls.
  • Experience in cooling and vehicle-level testing, including data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with INCA or similar bus interrogation tools.
  • Experience with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) quality tools.
  • Working knowledge of UG/NX CAD systems.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage supplier relationships.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to drive Stellantis vehicles as part of the role.
  • Travel requirements are less than 20% for supplier visits and assembly plant support.
  • Work arrangement may include onsite and remote hybrid options.
