Position Overview:

The Cooling Systems Product Engineer will focus on the design, development, validation, and release of cooling components specifically for electrified vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a range of cooling components throughout various stages of vehicle development.
  • Lead the initial packaging and development efforts to achieve cooling performance objectives.
  • Coordinate activities related to CAE, design, prototyping, and testing, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee manufacturability and monitor supplier progress to meet design milestones.
  • Assist in vehicle assembly and testing, addressing any component-related issues that arise.
  • Identify quality concerns and explore potential cost-saving measures post-launch.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Entry-level candidates may be considered, though a minimum of 1.5 years of experience with cooling or HVAC components is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to lead and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel for supplier visits and corporate vehicle assembly support.
  • Familiarity with cooling systems and components is required.
  • Proactive communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD design and proficiency in spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Experience in creating and applying DFMEAs and DVP&Rs is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of client systems and products is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of powertrain software and controls.
  • Experience in cooling and vehicle-level testing, including data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with INCA or similar bus interrogation tools.
  • Experience with DFSS quality tools.
  • Working knowledge of UG/NX CAD systems.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively manage suppliers and multiple projects.
  • 1.5 years of relevant experience preferred, though high-potential entry-level candidates may be considered.
  • Driving of company vehicles may be required during assignments.
  • Travel requirements are less than 20% for supplier visits and assembly plant support.
  • Work arrangement is hybrid, combining onsite and remote work.
