About the Team: The ADAS System Engineer will work alongside a 13 person team (9 application engineers, 4 systems engineers) and complete responsibilities for system definition, based on ZF components, that meets customer and internal stakeholder requirements. The ADAS Systems engineer must communicate with the customer frequently, be able to fully understand the customer's needs, and understand the functionalities and limitations of current ZF ADAS components and systems. The ADAS System Engineer will then work pro-actively with internal ZF teams to define a realistic system and architecture that meets all the stakeholder's requirements. The ADAS System Engineer will need to lead negotiations and design-related discussions with the customer to bring open issues to a close, create system requirement specification and system architecture, and deliver a consistent set of work products as an input to the work of all other engineering parties.

  • Elicit technical customer (internal / external) requirements and regularly align with customer (internal / external) for requirements clarification.
  • Specify technical system requirements derived from customer (internal / external) requirements.
  • Design, plan, and track system architecture in alignment with function development. Create system specifications based on system requirements.
  • Formulates Safety Goals, Functional and Technical Safety Concepts according ISO26262 (if applicable).
  • Formulate product variants and product configuration strategies. Create product variants and product configuration plans and tables.
  • Support development of system verification strategies. Support creation of test plans and test specifications.
  • Integrate system components and perform tests of system interfaces.
  • Create documentation for prototype and series production releases.
  • Support for process improvement, inspections, sharing learning etc.
  • Support and drive product lifecycle management and product lifecycles. Support engineering gate deliverables and gate reviews.

Your Profile as an ADAS System Engineer:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related engineering field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in automotive / commercial vehicle ECUs or embedded real time safety critical systems required. Must have advanced technical knowledge of Engineering in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in ADAS required, specifically in automotive and/or commercial vehicle industry. Must have good knowledge about ADAS products and system functions, and technical expertise for ADAS product groups.
  • Good understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet) required. Experience with automotive tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape/PEAK/etc).
  • General knowledge of automotive standards (SAE standard practices, J1939, UDS) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and issue resolution tools (DOORS/Integrity) strongly preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate technical concepts with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in collaboration with remote teams of different cultural background.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. 20-25% domestic, 0-5% international.
