We are in search of a Head of Category Strategy to play a pivotal role in our growth and expansion initiatives.

Position Summary

The primary objective of this position is to identify, analyze, and cultivate commercial opportunities across various business categories, enhancing the positioning of our diverse offerings and strengthening competitive advantages.

  • Discover new growth avenues, develop strategic business plans, and address competitive challenges.
  • Utilize optimal tools and methodologies to ensure a continuous flow of opportunities and actionable insights.
  • Assist business and commercial teams in prioritizing and executing category initiatives.
  • Deliver insights on market dynamics, category trends, consumer behaviors, and subchannel identification to drive growth and revenue.
  • Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to refine positioning strategies and execution plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate opportunities and establish strategic priorities in collaboration with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Benchmark industry best practices, develop processes and tools, and align resources and budgets effectively.
  • Create a robust pipeline of market, category, and brand opportunities.
  • Identify competitive positioning and implement operational benchmarks.
  • Monitor category drivers, market trends, and fundamental business metrics.
  • Formulate long-term market strategies with business leaders, tracking performance and identifying new growth avenues.
  • Comprehend market structures and define category roles.
  • Analyze consumer needs and market trends for precise targeting.
  • Develop strategic positioning tactics for brands and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate on marketing mix strategies to enhance return on investment.
  • Establish pipelines of opportunities with prioritized channels and clients.
  • Leverage key partner relationships and joint business plans for mutual benefit.
  • Monitor and assess category execution for actionable insights.
  • Evaluate capabilities, benchmark practices, and identify process improvements.
  • Integrate information systems and automate workflows.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field, with 5-8 years of experience in category development and insights within the CPG sector.
  • Proficiency in utilizing syndicated, consumer, and other insight data sources (e.g., IRI Circana, Nielsen, Numerator).
  • Experience in developing intelligence and insights programs.
Additional Information

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Compensation: The starting salary range for this role is $145,000 - $165,000. Actual compensation will depend on various factors including relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation considerations are made on a case-by-case basis.
