About Our Organization

The Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) is a nonprofit organization based in Colorado. Established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization was created to prevent housing loss during this crisis. By working directly with clients, we developed a comprehensive approach to eviction, foreclosure, and homelessness prevention that prioritizes the legal and financial needs of families facing housing insecurity.

Currently, our team assists over 1,000 individuals each month, uniting housing attorneys, economists, data analysts, policy experts, organizers, and technology specialists to support our clients. Over the past two years, we have allocated more than $200 million in assistance and served over 40,000 residents of Colorado. Our efforts have also contributed to significant legislative advancements aimed at preventing eviction, combating economic exploitation, and reducing the costs of essential services. CEDP's model has been recognized as a best practice by various national entities.

In addition to our eviction prevention initiatives, CEDP has broadened its service offerings to include disaster response, predatory towing, debt collection, benefit access and navigation, long-term rental assistance, and homelessness intervention. These services provide a comprehensive support system that encompasses navigation and advisory services, targeted financial assistance, legal support, and advocacy opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:

In this position, you will report directly to the Chief Programs Officer and collaborate closely with the Head of Integrated Care & Strategy. You will also engage with key members of the executive team, including the Co-Founders and other senior leaders.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Programs & Strategy to influence the development of CEDP's housing stabilization initiatives and financial teams. Your primary focus will be on impactful strategy and operational projects, emphasizing process management and enhancing organizational efficiency. You will work across departments and serve as a strategic partner to the Chief of Staff, contributing to operations and program development.

Key Duties Include:

  • Formulating and executing detailed project plans for significant initiatives within our Programs department, managing timelines, tasks, and priorities to ensure progress.
  • Facilitating the integration of housing stability and eviction prevention services with legal aid efforts.
  • Leading the design and implementation of new programs aimed at enhancing community support.
  • Providing high-level administrative support to executive leadership, including drafting communications for various stakeholders and managing schedules.
  • Collaborating across teams to create tools and communication channels that enhance visibility and engagement within our Programs and Finance departments.
  • Driving team and process improvement initiatives while establishing systems within the Finance team.
  • Conducting research and data analysis to support homelessness prevention and anti-poverty efforts.
  • Promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Programs and Finance teams, offering leadership and mentorship.
  • Advancing new priorities as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in strategic or analytical roles.
  • Proficiency in analytical modeling, including the ability to build models that address complex problems.
  • Experience in evaluating social enterprise business models and developing new service offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with executive leadership in various sectors.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers through data and presentations.
  • Capability to synthesize diverse information into cohesive documents.
  • Interest in fundraising and supporting executive leadership in resource acquisition.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Commitment to addressing racial and economic inequities.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and guiding high-performing teams.
  • Experience in product development for government or technology sectors is advantageous.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a dynamic work environment.
