Our customers are central to our mission, and our diverse culture values boldness, speed, simplicity, ownership, and a growth mindset, all aimed at crafting genuinely useful products.
We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about empowering teams and ensuring our approach to talent development is strategic and intentional.

As the Head of People Strategy and Partnership, you will serve as a vital strategic ally to the senior leadership team in Product and Technology. You will play a crucial role in enhancing people programs, tools, and strategic insights to create and deliver value to our organization. You will support our leadership team, people managers, and employees in fostering effective operations and employee engagement. Your responsibilities will include managing daily employee relations issues and strategic talent and compensation planning initiatives. Ultimately, you will be key in scaling our expanding organization, championing our core values, and ensuring that DigitalOcean remains an exceptional workplace.
Your Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborating with a global leadership and People team as an advocate, resource, and primary contact for your client groups.
  • Developing strategies aligned with business goals for staffing, onboarding, talent development, motivation, and work organization.
  • Providing HR expertise and support across various areas, including workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, employee development, performance management, and change management.
  • Utilizing analytics and data to inform workforce planning and act as a strategic partner both internally to the People team and externally to your clients.
  • Contributing significantly to cultivating a high-performance culture by ensuring all employees receive the necessary support to excel.
  • Advising leadership on talent planning, performance management, compensation strategies, employee relations, benefits, and talent development.
  • Facilitating talent reviews and succession planning discussions, ensuring actionable plans are implemented.
  • Acting as a liaison with Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Total Rewards, and People Operations teams to ensure effective program delivery and impact.
  • Possessing knowledge of labor and employment laws, with particular expertise in India, Pakistan, and UAE being advantageous.
  • Providing feedback or developing employee-focused programs or processes.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
Your Contributions to DigitalOcean:
  • Proven experience as a Senior HR business partner, ideally within a rapidly growing technology organization, with an understanding of operational business areas to assist managers and leaders with complex challenges and provide guidance on People matters.
  • Experience in implementing people programs, including compensation, performance feedback, HR compliance, and professional development initiatives.
  • Proactive in addressing people-related opportunities and anticipating challenges faced by the organization.
  • A passion for change management and guiding the organization through uncertainty and continuous evolution.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, demonstrating high self-motivation and the ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
  • Capability to translate metrics and data into actionable strategies.
  • Technical curiosity and awareness of emerging best practices in HR products and services.
  • A deep sense of empathy, connecting well with employees at all levels and understanding their needs.
  • A friendly and approachable communication style that encourages open dialogue with both individual contributors and managers.
  • A commitment to a People-first approach in building teams and enhancing performance across the organization.
Why You Will Appreciate Working at DigitalOcean:
  • We take pride in our work. Be part of a forward-thinking technology company with a promising trajectory, dedicated to simplifying cloud computing so innovators can focus on creating impactful software. As a team member, you will embody a bold, scrappy mindset, taking ownership with a strong sense of responsibility for customers, products, employees, and decisions.
  • We emphasize career growth. At DigitalOcean, you will engage in some of the most fulfilling work of your career, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We are a high-performance organization that challenges you to think expansively. Our organizational development team will provide resources to support your continuous growth, including reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education. All employees have access to over 10,000 courses on LinkedIn Learning to foster ongoing development.
  • We prioritize your well-being. Regardless of your location, we offer a competitive benefits package to support your overall well-being, including a one-time work-from-home stipend, wellness allowance, and flexible time-off policies. While our benefits philosophy is consistent globally, specific offerings may vary based on local regulations and preferences.
  • We recognize and reward our employees. The salary range for this position is between $175,000 - $200,000, determined by market data, relevant experience, and skills. You may also qualify for a performance-based bonus, and we provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and participation in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
  • We value diversity and inclusion. As an equal-opportunity employer, we understand that diverse perspectives and backgrounds strengthen our teams and enhance our products. We approach diversity and inclusion with seriousness and thoughtfulness, ensuring no discrimination based on race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
