Position Overview

This role is pivotal in the development, preparation, and presentation of Technical Training content at RESA Power for both Employees and Clients. The training topics encompass various areas including, but not limited to: Substations, Transformers, Relays, Circuit Breakers, and NFPA70E Safety Standards. Additionally, this position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company's regional locations, offering support to technicians in the field and preparing them for certification assessments. Representatives in this role will also engage with audiences at industry trade shows through presentations and published papers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously enhance and maintain a detailed catalog of technical training resources that address learning gaps identified by the Technician Competency Matrix.
  • Facilitate effective communication with both internal and external customers to promote training opportunities, confirm sessions, and conduct necessary follow-ups.
  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor training sessions for designated employees and clients.
  • Draft training proposals tailored for specific customers.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for field technicians, providing timely guidance or directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Participate in trade shows and deliver presentations on relevant topics. Regularly contribute articles to industry publications.
  • Establish and maintain an openly shared training schedule with the training team.
  • Create engaging training materials for hands-on, live, and virtual training, either independently or in collaboration with internal and external SMEs.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and business objectives.
  • Support, evaluate, and oversee contract vendor training providers.
  • Mentor participants in the Apprentice and Mentorship Program (AMP).
  • Be prepared to travel as required by training schedules and business needs.
  • Utilize data and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training courses and materials.
  • Analyze course feedback to implement program improvements and adjustments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent field experience.
  • Familiarity with the NFPA70E Standard.
  • Certification from recognized Industry Organizations such as NFPA, NETA, NICET, NCEES, etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise in common Power Systems subjects.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with a passion for learning.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to groups.
  • Proven track record in training others.
  • Ability to accommodate and respond to unique training requests.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge.
  • Experience in developing training programs from inception.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Excel; advanced skills preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability to changes in workflow, prioritizing tasks as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated urgency and ownership of responsibilities.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
