Senior Technical Education Specialist

This role entails the development, organization, and execution of Technical Training content at RESA Power for both Employees and Clients. Training subjects encompass a range of topics including, but not limited to: Substations, Transformers, Relays, Circuit Breakers, and NFPA70E Safety protocols. The individual will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company's regional locations, assisting technicians with field inquiries and preparing them for certification assessments. Additionally, this position requires representation of the organization at industry trade shows through presentations and published papers.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously create and sustain a thorough catalog of technical training resources addressing various Power Systems Topics, filling identified learning gaps as per the Technician Competency Matrix.
- Facilitate effective written communication with clients (both internal and external) to highlight opportunities, confirm training schedules, and execute necessary follow-ups.
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor training sessions for assigned employees and clients.
- Draft training proposals for identified clients.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for field technicians, providing immediate guidance or directing them to suitable resources.
- Participate in trade shows and deliver presentations on relevant topics. Regularly contribute articles to industry publications.
- Establish, maintain, and transparently share your training calendar with the training team.
- Create engaging training materials for hands-on, live, and virtual training, either independently or in collaboration with internal and external SMEs.
- Adhere to compliance, accreditation, and business objectives.
- Develop, support, evaluate, and oversee contract vendor training providers.
- Be open to mentoring within our Apprentice and Mentorship Program (AMP).
- Willingness to travel as per training schedules and business needs.
- Utilize data and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training courses and materials.
- Ability to compile and analyze course feedback; leverage data for program enhancements and modifications.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent field experience.
- Familiarity with the NFPA70E Standard.
- Certification from recognized Industry Organizations such as NFPA, NETA, NICET, NCEES, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in common Power Systems subjects.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Experience in presenting to groups.
- Proven track record in training others.
- Ability to accommodate and respond to unique training requests.
- Capability to work independently.
- A passion for learning and teaching.
- Experience in developing training programs from inception.
- Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Excel; advanced skills preferred.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to adapt to workflow changes, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated urgency and ownership of responsibilities.
- A collaborative team player mindset.
- Must reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
