Position Overview

This role is dedicated to the development, organization, and execution of Technical Training content at RESA Power for both Employees and Clients. Training subjects encompass a wide range of topics including, but not limited to: Substations, Transformers, Relays, Circuit Breakers, and NFPA70E Safety protocols. The individual will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various company locations within the designated region. This includes providing support to technicians with field inquiries and preparing them for certification assessments. Additionally, representatives will be expected to showcase the organization at industry events through presentations and publications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously enhance and maintain a thorough catalog of technical training resources addressing various Power Systems Topics, aligned with the Technician Competency Matrix.
  • Facilitate effective written communication with clients (internal and external) to promote training opportunities, confirm sessions, and manage follow-ups.
  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor training for assigned employees and clients.
  • Draft training proposals for identified clients.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for field technicians, providing timely guidance or directing them to relevant resources.
  • Participate in industry events and deliver presentations on relevant topics. Regularly contribute articles to trade publications.
  • Establish, maintain, and transparently share your training schedule with the training team.
  • Create engaging training materials for hands-on, live, and virtual sessions, either independently or in collaboration with internal and external SMEs.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and business objectives.
  • Support, evaluate, and oversee contract vendor training providers.
  • Mentor participants in our Apprentice and Mentorship Program (AMP).
  • Be prepared to travel as required by training schedules and business needs.
  • Utilize data and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training courses and materials.
  • Analyze course feedback to implement program improvements and adjustments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, coupled with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent field experience.
  • Familiarity with the NFPA70E Standard.
  • Certification from recognized Industry Organizations such as NFPA, NETA, NICET, NCEES, etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise in common Power Systems topics.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to groups.
  • Proven experience in training others.
  • Ability to accommodate and respond to unconventional training requests.
  • Capacity to work independently.
  • A passion for learning and teaching others.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing training programs from inception.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Excel; advanced skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to adapt to workflow changes, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative team player mindset.
  • Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance to a major airport.
