About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Store Department Manager to join our team at REI Recreation Equipment, Inc. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for coaching and motivating our sales teams to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of retail staff to achieve business and service goals.
  • Training and Development: Provide coaching, recognition, and performance management to team members.
  • Visual Merchandising: Direct the execution of our core standards and overall visual direction.
  • Sales Growth: Drive sales through all channels by maximizing selling behaviors.
  • Business Adaptation: Make business adaptations to increase sales and service.
  • Communication: Communicate key company strategies and changes to teams as needed.
  • Talent Acquisition: Recruit and develop diverse talent from within and outside the organization.
  • Culture Development: Inspire a customer-centric culture by recognizing and rewarding team members.
  • Performance Evaluation: Develop top performers and evaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback.
  • Team Building: Build teams through effective employee development, involvement, and communication.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of successful retail management experience.
  • Communication Skills: Enjoy communicating and building relationships, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Feedback and Adaptability: Open to feedback and other viewpoints in the spirit of supporting the business.
  • Problem-Solving: Use business understanding, innovative thinking, and sound judgment to solve problems.
  • Quality Work: Produce quality work by setting effective goals and establishing priorities.
  • Resource Management: Organize and use resources to meet deadlines, keep others informed about plans and progress.
