Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our stores by providing exceptional customer service, leading a team of sales associates, and maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing store environment. This individual will assist the Store Manager in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Create a positive and welcoming shopping experience for customers
    • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Team Leadership
    • Provide guidance and training to sales associates to ensure excellent customer service and sales skills
    • Lead by example and demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Store Operations
    • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including inventory management, pricing, and promotions
  • Sales and Revenue Growth
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and meet sales targets
    • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Inventory Management
    • Assist in managing inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and maintaining inventory
    • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of inventory transactions
  • Loss Prevention
    • Monitor store operations to prevent and detect theft and other forms of loss
    • Implement measures to prevent and mitigate loss, including securing merchandise and maintaining a secure store environment

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
    • Minimum 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a footwear or apparel store
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
    • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
    • Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, pricing, and promotions
